60-Year-Old Show Hasn't Lost Any Steam

The oldest steam show in Ontario gets underway Thursday with a tractor caravan through the town of Forest starting at 10am.

The Cockshut Tractor Pull is set for 7pm.

Gates open at 9am Friday, August 18. The Parade of Power is set for 5pm and vintage tractor pulls begin at 7pm.

Association Vice President Tim Wilkins says they've lined up some top notch entertainment.

"We've spent over $60,000 to celebrate our 60th anniversary," says Wilkins. "The Canadian Cowgirls perform at 10am Saturday and 11am Sunday morning. The RAM Rodeo gets underway at 1pm Saturday and Sunday. We have a MacKinley family concert Friday night with the big heavy horse show with the massive Clydes over 8 ft tall pulling 13,000 pounds on the track Saturday afternoon. These horses are magnificent animals with the pony pullers on Sunday a smaller version of that."

There are steam threshing demonstrations, tractor pulls, entertainment and activities for the children.
