Neighbour Alerts Residents To Garage Fire

An attentive neighbour is to thank for alerting two residents of a home on Cromwell St. to a garage fire Wednesday night.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services was called to the 200-block around 11:40pm.

Fire Prevention Officer Roel Bus says when crews arrived there were visible flames from the front corner of the garage, a parked van and the nearby fence.

"We can determine where the fire started, but the exact ignition source is still under investigation," says Bus.

No one was injured. Damage is estimated at about $50,000.
