UPDATE: Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle

A 63-year-old man was hit by a vehicle and taken to hospital with unknown injuries Wednesday morning.

Sarnia police say the pedestrian was struck at about 7:10am at Afton Dr. and Murphy Rd.

Northbound Murphy Rd. was closed from Kensington Blvd. to Afton Dr. until 12pm.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Constable Mark Berger of the traffic division at 519-344-8861. ext. 6156.

Police are also concerned that drivers were going around the road closed signs, barricades and police cruisers and that some were going into the northbound lanes to head south.

The investigating officer had to stop vehicles seven times and deal with the drivers.

Drivers could face a $110 fine and have their licence re-examined.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
