Above Normal Temperatures To Continue

Hot temperatures are expected to continue for the next few days in Southwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says highs for the next five days could hit 29C (84F).

He says that's 8C above the normal daytime high for this time of year.

"This pattern with an area of high pressure parked around the lower Great Lakes is pumping warm and humid air over the area," says Coulson. "We're looking at these warming temperatures staying with us through the first part of October. We may even be flirting with some record high temperatures over the weekend."

Coulson adds it will be the longest stretch of hot days so far this summer, even though Friday is the first official day of autumn.
