Man Attacked, Money Bags Stolen

The manager of a french fry truck had his day's earning ripped from his hands Tuesday.

Sarnia police were called to the 500-block of London Rd., near East St. around 10pm.

Their investigation revealed that a 55-year-old Sarnia man had parked his truck, exited the vehicle and was sorting through cash when he was shoved from behind.

Constable Nelson Amaral says the victim fell to the ground and a suspect fled the area with three blue, rectangular, zippered bank deposit bags containing an undisclosed amount of money.

"The suspect in this matter was last seen running northbound, between buildings, towards London Rd.," says Amaral. "He is described as a white male, approximately 5'9" tall, with a medium build and was observed wearing a dark coloured muscle shirt -- similar to a basketball shirt -- and dark track pants with a specific "L" shaped tear on the left rear leg."

Amaral says the victim was not injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sarnia Police Criminal Investigation Division at 519-344-8861 ext. 5300 or Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
