LKETFO President Ron Rivait Passes Away

Ron Rivait, president of the Lambton Kent Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario, passed away on Friday, September 22 after a brief battle with cancer. He had been president of the organisation since 2008, after serving as vice-president for four years. Throughout his career Ron also taught students at Forest Central/ Forest Woodside, Parkview, Lambton Central Centennial, Kinnwood Central, Northern, Devine, Mooretown and Rosedale schools.

He was a dedicated family man who leaves behind his wife Cheryl and 3 daughters-- Olivia, Megan and Kate.

In honour of Ron and in accordance with the Lambton Kent District School Board's Display of Flags Regulation, Director Jim Costello has requested that exterior flags at all schools be lowered to half-mast on Monday.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
