United Way Campaign Hoping For A Big Week

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign continues to inch closer to the halfway point.

Executive Director Dave Brown says they're nearing the $800,000 mark.

"I'm excited to say that we are at 37% of our $2-million goal which represents $740,000," says Brown. "Already 1,350 donors have contributed to this year's campaign."

Brown says Suncor is kicking off its one week employee fundraising drive Monday, and hopes it will help push them closer to the 50% mark by Friday.

He says they're also sending out follow up letters to individuals who have donated in the past, in an effort to move the campaign ahead even further.

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 19 agencies providing 35 programs and services to the community.
