United Way Campaign Nearing Half Way Mark

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way is hoping to hit the 50% mark by the end of this week.

Executive Director Dave Brown says they've raised $960,000 already, 48% of the $2-million goal.

Brown says even though they're trailing last years campaign by about a week, he expects they will reach the $2-million target.

"We've always been confident because we have such a long period between now and the end of the year," says Brown. "We are about four or five days behind last year's level but we're starting to do our follow up letters now to those who donated last year but not so far this year."

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 19 agencies providing 35 programs and services to the community.
