Sting Rookies To Represent Canada

Sarnia Sting rookies Jamieson Rees and Colton Kammerer are among 66 players selected to represent Canada at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge next month.

The event takes place November 5-11 in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, BC.

Players will be divided into three teams representing Team Canada Black, Team Canada Red, and Team Canada White when they compete against the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and the United States in their quest for a gold medal.

Kammerer, who doesn't turn 16 until October 21, has three assists in nine games from the Sting blueline.

Rees missed the first part of the season due to injury but has picked up an assist in three games.

Both players have played a role in the Sting's early season success. The team leads the Ontario Hockey League standings with a 9-1-0-0 record and 18 points.

Each were selected by the Sting in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.
