Fatal Crash At Waterworks And Michigan

Sarnia police are investigating a fatal collision Monday afternoon.

Police say a westbound vehicle on Michigan Line collided with a northbound vehicle at Waterworks Rd. around 4pm.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 93-year-old Sarnia woman, was taken to hospital as unresponsive and pronounced dead.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 58-year-old Sarnia man, was treated at the scene and released.

Constable John Sottosanti says anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Constable Jim Maginn of the Traffic Unit at 519-344-8861, ext. 6152.

The intersection of Michigan Line and Waterworks Rd. was closed until about 11:30am Tuesday while police conducted their investigation.

No names have been released.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
