Wanted Man Struggles During Arrest

Sarnia police had to taser a man during an arrest Wednesday night.

Constable John Sottosanti says officers attended a home in the 500-block of George St. around 10pm, to arrest a man wanted on several outstanding warrants.

He says as officers attempted to arrest 26-year-old Brandon McNevan, a struggle ensued.

Sottosanti says after about four minutes, officers used a taser to subdue him. Officers were able to get him under control and take the man into custody.

"McNevan has had warrants for the following charges, two counts of breaching his recognizance, one count of trespass by night, possession of a stolen credit card, fraud under $5,000 and his surety had been pulled," says Sottosanti.

McNevan faces a new count of breaching his recognizance and resisting arrest after Wednesday's incident.
