White Crosses Deliver Sobering Message

MADD Sarnia-Lambton is holding it's annual White Cross dedication in Forest Saturday, November 4.

Volunteers will be setting up over 270 white crosses at the Emergency Medical Services building on King St.

MADD Sarnia-Lambton President Natalie Leduc says the crosses are a reminder of the lives lost due to impaired driving.

"We put up around 275 every year because each cross represents a life that will be lost around the holiday season," says Leduc. "Our hope is that when people see them, they will remember not to drive impaired because they could hurt or kill someone."

The group chooses a different location each year for the display in advance of the holiday season.

Leduc says volunteers will begin setting up the crosses around 10:30am, with a ceremony to follow at 11am.
