Cops For Cans 2016. Photo submitted by Sarnia Police Service via twitter.The Sarnia Police Service and the Inn of the Good Shepherd are teaming up for the fifth annual Cops for Cans this weekend.
Saturday, November 18 from 10am until 3pm, Sarnia police cruisers will be parked at the Quinn Dr. Wal-Mart and at the Real Canadian Superstore on London Rd.
The goal is to fill both cruisers with non-perishable food items for the inn. Last year over 6,100 lbs was collected.
Since the event started four years ago, Cops for Cans has donated over 17,000 lbs of food.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.
