Sting Defeat Visiting Spitfires

The Sarnia Sting defeated the Windsor Spitfires 6-3 at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena Friday.

Sting forward Anthony Salinitri (10) scored three goals with singles going to Hugo Leufvenius (6), Jordan Ernst (12) and Jordan Kyrou (18).

Kyrou, the leading scorer in the OHL with 47 points, also contributed with three assists.

Logan Brown, William Sirman and Aaron Luchuk scored for the Spitfires.

Sarnia goalie Justin Fazio made 25 saves while Sarnia peppered 33 shots at Windsor goalies Lucas Patton and Brock Baier.

The Sting visit the Guelph Storm Sunday at 6pm. The pregame show starts at 5;30pm on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.

Elsewhere in the "O" Sault Ste. Marie blanked Sudbury 2-0 to remain in first place, one point ahead of Sarnia, in the West Division.

London edged Saginaw 4-3 in overtime. Kitchener beat Guelph 7-5. Niagara downed North Bay 6-1. Mississuaga doubled Oshawa 4-2 and Kingston clipped Hamilton 3-2.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
