Pre-Holiday Bargains During Shop Local Week

Love or hate shopping, a new survey has shown 86% of us plan to spend as much as, or more on Christmas gifts as we did last year.

Now's the time to get a head start on your gift-buying with Blackburn Radio's "Shop Local" week.

General Manager Martin Vrolyk says the event began four years ago to get a jump on Black Friday.

"It's become an important part of our makeup that we help keep our traffic here in Sarnia," says Vrolyk. "We know that we're not going to stop people from going across the border. That's not the intention. The intention is to point out to people how many great businesses and great values, great deals and great bargains we have right here at home."

Vrolyk says the one-day event has expanded to an entire week with dozens of local businesses jumping on board.

Details can be found on all three radio stations websites with specials announced daily live on air.
