St. Patrick's Catholic High School students are hoping the 34th annual Irish Miracle Food Drive is just as successful as last years campaign.
The school surpassed its goal in 2016 after collecting 8,000 bags and 300 boxes of food, as well as $1,000 in cash.
Teacher Danielle Kells says to surpass last years mark, they'll need support from the whole community.
"Once you start helping, you'll never stop," says Kells. "Even though we know not everyone can canvas with us Saturday morning, most people are extremely generous and it's truly inspiring to see."
The students held a pep rally Tuesday afternoon to encourage everyone to get involved. Last year, over 500 volunteers, students and staff collected non perishable food items from every neighborhood in Sarnia, Brights Grove and Point Edward.
Residents are asked to place their donations outside their door on Saturday between 9am and noon, or drop them off at the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Bank at 228 Davis St. in Sarnia.
