UPDATE: Extreme Cold Warning Ends

An extreme cold warning that was in effect for Sarnia-Lambton was lifted just before 11am Wednesday.

It was issued because of a cold air mass that's blanketed this area with bone-chilling temperatures, that combined with wind chills from west winds are resulting in temperatures in the -26 C to -30 C range.

Cover up because frostbite can develop within minutes to exposed skin.

Overnight lows will dip to -16 C or so and the warmest it will get this week is a high of -8 C on Saturday.

And if that's not bad enough, the west winds will shift to more northerly overnight, possibly setting up squalls off Lake Huron in north and east Lambton with 10 cm of snow possible overnight with bitterly cold wind chills.
