Sarnia's New Year's Baby Arrives Half Hour Past Midnight

Sarnia-Lambton's first newborn of 2018 was delivered at Bluewater Health at 12;30am Monday January 1.

Baby Murphy is the son of Courtney and Matthew Pereira of Sarnia and weighed in at 8 lbs 14 oz.

Courtney is a Bluewater Health employee and works with the Palliative Care team as a registered nurse.

Public Relations Director Julie Oosterman says the New Year's baby will receive a gift basket from the hospital's Children's Auxiliary.
