Petrolia's Loss Is Lambton Shores' Gain

Current Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire Department Chief Lawrence Swift will become Lambton Shores' first full-time fire chief at the end of January.

Lambton Shores Mayor Bill Weber says he will oversee all five volunteer departments within the municipality.

"It's primarily an administration role to coordinate training, equipment purchases so that everyone is meeting all the standards," says Weber. "It will help us provide the best possible service we can for Lambton Shores residents."

Petrolia Mayor John McCharles says they'll meet with Enniskillen officials and fire department representatives before deciding how to proceed.

In the meantime, he says Deputy Chief Tim Williams will be acting chief of the department.
