Drugs, Cash And Taser Seized In Police Bust

A man and a woman are charged with trafficking drugs including fentanyl following a bust Tuesday night at a home in Sarnia.

The Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit executed a search warrant in the 800-block of London Rd. at around 7:30pm.

Constable John Sottosanti says over $9,000 worth of drugs and cash were seized.

"As officers searched the home they located five and a half 100 mg patches of fentanyl with a street value of approximately $4,400 along with quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, and Suboxone," says Sottosanti. "The total street value of the drugs is approximately $4,891, also located was about $4,425 in Canadian currency."

Constable Sottosanti says a taser was also found inside the home.

Two unnamed residents in the home, a male and female both aged 29, are charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. The man is also charged with possession of a prohibited device. The two were being held pending bail hearings.

Constable Sottosanti says a guest inside the home at the time of the search was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was released on a promise to appear.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
