Forest 'Super School' Funding Still In The Air

The Lambton Kent District School Board remains hopeful the province will allocate funding toward plans for a $27.7-million kindergarten to Grade 12 school in Forest.

Superintendent of Education Gary Girardi says they're still waiting to hear if their application has been approve after their proposal was submitted for a second time last fall.

"We are aware that the ministry has publicly stated that they're going to be doing significant work across the province, but they've made no specific indication to our application," says Girardi.

He says the board remains confident in its proposal and expects a decision by month's end.

The province announced earlier this month it will spend $784-million this year to build and renovate 79 schools.
