Point Edward Receives Latest Gaming Payment

Over the last 18 years, the Village of Point Edward has received over $42-million from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

A cheque has been received for the period from October to December 2017.

OLG issued a third quarter payment Friday of $556,420 to the municipality for hosting Gateway Casinos.

In June the new owner-operator announced a $26-million renovation to rebrand the gaming facility as a "Starlight Casino."

It's expected work will be completed by late spring and will including a new family-friendly restaurant and enhanced gaming floor.

The waterfront casino opened in April 2000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
