Strong Natural Gas Odour Investigated

An area in Sarnia's south end was cordoned off briefly by city police over the noon hour Wednesday.

Constable John Sottosanti says police, Sarnia Fire and Rescue and Union Gas officials were investigating a strong natural gas odour in the Confederation St. and Murphy Rd. area.

He says Union Gas secured the gas line quickly, so there was no danger to anyone as they do their investigation and work on any repairs.

Sottosanti says a source has not been located.

Some businesses may close because they don't have heat to the building. Patrons are being urged to call ahead.
