Weighty B&E Evidence Found

Two Sarnia men have been arrested after police stopped a suspicious vehicle late Thursday night that was heavily weighted down.

Extra patrols were being conducted in the Plank Rd. area in response to break-ins over the last several months targeting businesses that recycle metal.

At around 11:15pm Thursday an officer spotted a vehicle parked at a Plank Rd. business. It was later stopped and a subsequent search found several hundred pounds of stolen metals including catalytic converters, copper radiators, copper pipe and stainless steel.

Police say a hole had been cut in a compound fence.

Two men, aged 46 and 28, are charged with breach of probation, two counts of break and enter and one count of possessing break and enter instruments.

They were being held in custody pending bail hearings.
