City Cops Interrupt Suspected Drug Deal

Sarnia police seized nearly $12,000 worth of drugs Friday in an afternoon drug bust.

Constable John Sottosanti says vice unit members were conducting surveillance on a suspected drug dealer, in the area of Ontario and Confederation St. at around 4:10pm.

He says 31-year-old Jason Lawrence Low of Sarnia was arrested after he was allegedly seen taking part in a drug deal.

"Officers observed the suspect take part in what appeared to be a drug deal and after forming their ground the suspect was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine," says Sottosanti.

He says a search of the suspect recovered hydromorphone capsules, cocaine, crystal meth, methadone, 15.1 grams of crack cocaine and almost $900 in cash.

Jason Lawrence Low of Sarnia was being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
