UPDATE: Messy Morning Commute Across Sarnia-Lambton

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Wednesday morning for much of southern Ontario including Sarnia-Lambton.

An area of snow associated with a Texas low pressure area was tracking to the south of the lower Great Lakes.

The national weather agency ended the special weather statement shortly before noon.

Environment Canada says while modest snowfall amounts in the 4-8 cm range (1-3 inch) were expected, brief bursts of heavier snow were causing occasional low visibility and poor driving conditions across the region.

No Lambton-Kent school buses were cancelled Wednesday but some were delayed.

The snow was to taper off by early afternoon but Environment Canada says more is expected later Thursday into Friday, and Saturday and Sunday as well.
