UPDATE: Propane Tanker Rollover On Hwy. 402

A tanker truck rollover on Hwy. 402 Thursday morning could have been worse. Lambton OPP Constable Chris Doupe says a double-trailer propane tanker hit the median and tipped onto its side but luckily it was empty.

"At approximately 7am our members attended westbound 402 highway, around the Oil Heritage Rd. area in Plympton, as we have a tractor-trailer in the median in the ditch area directly under the overpass," says Doupe. "That tractor-trailer was towing two empty propane tanks."

The driver, who's charged with careless driving, was treated at hospital for minor injuries.

Intermittent lane closures were expected Thursday afternoon while tow operators remove the tanker from the median.
