Warwick Snowmobile Death Being Investigated

An investigation is underway after a snowmobile trail groomer in Warwick Township came upon a damaged snowmobile and a dead man beside it Thursday morning.

Lambton OPP were called to the area of First School Rd., between Egremont Rd. and Brick Yard Line, around 10:30am Thursday.

Police have identified the deceased man as 41-year-old Robert J. Thompson of Warwick Township.

The Regional Coroner's Office has taken over the investigation to determine the cause of death.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
