Chaos At Canatara Leads To Charges

A 22-year-old Sarnia man faces numerous charges including drunk driving after a pick-up truck drove erratically through Canatara Park Friday night.

City police say at around 9:50pm, a green truck was seen driving through snow banks and running over signs.

A beer bottle was thrown from the pick-up at another vehicle in the parking lot causing a confrontation with other individuals.

Police say the suspect vehicle hit the rear of the other vehicle as it attempted to leave the area.

The victim called police and the two vehicles were stopped without incident on southbound Christina St.

Jeremy Thomas Jones was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he allegedly blew over twice the legal limit. He's charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, failing to remain, mischief over $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.

The accused was held until sober and then released on a promise to appear in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
