Stolen Vehicle Recovered After Driver Gets Stuck

Getting a car stuck in a snowbank led to the arrest of a 16-year-old Sarnia youth Wednesday morning.

Around 7:20am, city police were called to a parking lot near Lorne Cres. regarding a vehicle that was stuck.

Witnesses say the driver was attempting to free the vehicle from the snow.

When police arrived, they determined the vehicle had been stolen from a car lot on Indian Rd. S earlier in the day.

The young offender is charged with theft of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with probation, and remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
