Traffic Stop Leads To Weapons Charges

A 29-year-old Kettle Point man is facing weapons charges after a speeding car was stopped on London Line Wednesday.

Sarnia police clocked a vehicle travelling 97 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, around 1:45pm.

Police say they recovered a stun gun and found the driver was unlicensed and wanted on an outstanding warrant by Windsor police.

Quentin Abraham Shawnoo is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and two counts of breaching probation.

He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
