CFL Legend Leo Cahill Dies At 89

Former Sarnia resident and Toronto Argonauts head coach Leo Cahill has passed away at the age of 89.

The North Utica, Illinois native coached the Argos in the late 60s, then again in the late 70s and was the team's general manager for a brief period in the 80s.

After he retired, Cahill moved to Sarnia with his son Terry in 2000 and spent over a decade in the community before moving to Atlanta for health reasons.

The CFL legend never won a grey cup with the Argos, but he's credited for breathing life into a franchise that led the CFL in attendance for eight straight years upon his arrival.

Leo Cahill died in an Atlanta hospital after being ill with numerous ailments the past several years.
