Ice Fishing Derby A Go

The Bluewater Anglers ice fishing derby will proceed as planned Saturday.

Spokesperson Ron Allison says conditions are suitable despite the mild weather this week.

"We've had guys out on the ice and looked at it and we've got a foot of ice all over the harbour everything looks good, but you can go out past the point," says Allison. "A little bit of slop on top of the ice but it's still a go and we're looking forward to having a good day."

No fishing licence is needed and the event will be open to both club members and the general public.

The entry fee is $5 and can be paid at The Outdoorsman or Buck's Bait until 4:30pm Friday afternoon. Tickets will be available at the Centennial Park boat ramp parking lot at Sarnia Bay on Saturday, February 17 from 7:30am until 9am.
