Cabbie Robbed At Knifepoint

A 23-year-old Sarnia man has been arrested after a cabbie was robbed at knifepoint around 10pm Monday night.

Sarnia police say a man was driven from Dresden to a Sarnia residence, refused to pay the fare, brandished a knife and demanded money.

A man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money but was arrested around 4:40am at another Sarnia residence.

Justin Thompson is charged with two counts of breach of probation, robbery, assault with a weapon, utter threats to cause bodily harm, possession of a dangerous weapon and transportation fraud.

He is still in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
