Arrests Made After Forest Couple Fights Off Intruders

Two north Lambton men have been arrested in a home invasion in Forest at around 3am Saturday.

Lambton OPP say a couple was awakened in their home on Townsend Line off Fuller Rd. by the sounds of two people forcing their way into the house.

The residents suffered minor injuries in a brief struggle with the suspects who then fled.

Constable Chris Doupe says 25-year-old Connor James Caughy of Forest, and 24-year-old Nicholas James Gliddon of Arkona are charged.

"Aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, wearing a disguise and break and enter with the intent to commit an indictable offence," says Doupe.

Constable Doupe says it's unclear whether the home invasion was random.

Both suspects remain in custody, awaiting bail hearings.
