Former Sting Captain Wins Prestigious Award

A former Sarnia Sting captain has won a prestigious academic award at StFX University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Craig Duininck has received the $25,000 Frank H. Sobey Award for Excellence in Business Studies.

The St. Cloud, Minnesota native is a fourth-year honours entrepreneurship student at the StFX Schwartz School of Business.

The award recognizes academic excellence, extracurricular and community involvement and entrepreneurial interest.

Duininck, who was named captain of the StFX X-Men hockey team in 2017, played with the Sarnia Sting from 2011 to 2013.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
