The Sarnia Sting continues to break its own win record.

The club collected its franchise-record 44th victory of the season with a 2-1 win over the Guelph Storm Saturday night at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

The Sting currently hold the third seed in the OHL Western Conference standings with 93 points which is a new franchise record.

Hugo Leufvenius scored first for the Sting at 9:12 in the opening stanza.

Nate Schnarr tied the game for Guelph late in the middle period. Sarnia killed off just two penalties throughout the first 40 minutes of play but were outshot by the Storm 32-18.

Adam Ruzicka scored what became the game-winning goal late in the third frame, his 35th goal of the season.

Justin Fazio stopped all but one of the 41 shots he faced between the pipes for the Sting. Anthony Popovich had 30 saves for the Storm.

Sarnia begins the final weekend of the regular season Wednesday when they welcome the Kitchener Rangers.
