Sarnia Woman Charged With Drug Trafficking

A 40-year-old Sarnia woman is facing drug trafficking charges after being stopped by Sarnia police on an outstanding warrant early Saturday morning.

Around 2am, members of the COPPS Unit spotted a woman who was wanted for theft under $5,000, in the 100-block of Cameron St.

She was arrested, and a search allegedly turned up baggies of suspected drugs.

A further search of the woman at police headquarters allegedly found 37 grams of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $3,700.

Shaunda Lynn Hooper has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
