Sarnia Civic Museum Proposed

The Sarnia Historical Society wants to put the city on display.

President Ron RealeSmith says there are some great artifacts highlighting the Sarnia's history that everyone should have a chance to see.

On CHOK's The Talk Show Tuesday with Sue Storr, RealeSmith says several locations, including the downtown Sarnia Library and the art gallery, could provide some space for a civic museum.

"I totally think there is a demand for it," says RealeSmith. "I'm looking at a report, a feasibility study from 2001 and there's a demand for it, people have been talking about it for decades and if you build it they will come."

The Sarnia Historical Society is hosting a brainstorming session Tuesday, March 13 at the Front St. Legion beginning at 7pm.

Members from the Lambton County Cultural Services Division will also provide updates on the Lambton Heritage Museum renovation.
