Forest Native Comes So Close To Gold Medal

Forest's Tyler McGregor and Canada’s Para ice hockey team lost in heartbreaking fashion against the US in the gold medal game Saturday night.

Canada was leading 1-0 with less than a minute to play before the US tied the game with 37 seconds to play and eventually won it in overtime 2-1.

McGregor finished as Canada's top scorer and was third among all skaters with 8 goals and 5 assists in his second paralympic games. The 24-year-old now has a silver and bronze medal.

Despite the loss, the silver medal wraps up team Canada's most successful paralympics ever-- they finished with 28 medals (8, 4, 16), eclipsing the previous best of 19 set in the Vancouver 2010 games.
