Significant Easter Weekend Cocaine Bust

Two Sarnia men face drug trafficking charges following a significant cocaine bust over the Easter weekend.

Constable John Sottosanti says at around 4pm Sunday, officers conducting surveillance as part of an ongoing vice unit investigation, spotted two suspects at a local bar.

One left the bar and went to an address in the city's north end where police believe drugs were picked up.

Constable Sottosanti says a short time later, a suspect vehicle was stopped and officers found almost 30 g of cocaine with a street value of $3,000.

"The other suspect in this matter was located and arrested, at approximately 6:30pm, while he was still at the same bar," says Sottosanti. "The suspect was the person that resided at a north end residence, located in the 1100-block of Lakeshore Rd."

Constable Sottosanti says early Monday morning a search warrant was executed at a Lakeshore Rd. home, west of Murphy Rd., and officers seized nearly 150 g of cocaine, with a street value of $15,000 as well as close to $9,000 in Canadian currency.

Robert J. Felton, 50, and David J. Rowe, 51, were being held pending bail hearings but have since been released from custody.
