Real Estate Market Poised For Spring Rebound

The beginnings of a spring rebound are taking shape in our local real estate market.

Sarnia-Lambton Real Estate Board President Steve Park says MLS listings were up 11% in April compared to the same month last year, but are still down 13% for the year.

"We currently have 236 active residential listings in the MLS system, 229 of them were new in April, so our inventory is getting sold but we're getting the inventory," says Park. "If you're out there looking to buy a house be encouraged and if you're looking at selling, it's still a very healthy market."

164 properties worth nearly $46.5-million sold in April, representing a ten-year record high for the month.

The highest number of residential home sales was 28 sales in the $200,000 to $250,000 range.
