Surveillance System Alerts Police To Break-In Suspects

Sarnia police were able to nab two thieves in the act thanks to a working security system.

Police say a company supervisor at a compound in the 800-block of Confederation St. called them at around 3:30am Saturday to report the surveillance system had been activated.

City police responded and the OPP Canine Unit set up containment around the fenced compound.

Police say one suspect was located in the compound and a second was tracked down by the police dog a short time later.

Officers seized a small amount of methamphetamine and opioids.

A 27-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man, both of Sarnia, are charged with break and enter, possession of break and enter tools, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation.
