Sarnia Man Faces More Charges After Resisting Arrest

A Sarnia man wanted on several outstanding criminal charges was arrested by city police on the weekend, but not without incident.

Police moved in to make an arrest in the 100-block of Bright St. after a suspect was seen getting into a vehicle in the Maxwell St. and Cotterbury St. area just before 1am Saturday.

Police allege the suspect refused to get out of the vehicle, then kicked the door open, striking one of the officers. He then allegedly fled to a nearby residence where he was arrested without further incident

Michael Derrick Williams, 33, was wanted on charges including three counts of assault causing bodily harm, robbery and assault with a weapon. He is also now charged with breach of probation and resisting arrest.
