Buildings Destroyed By Brush Fire

An outside brush fire is to blame for a structure fire in the 6800-block of Courtright Line.

Brooke Fire Rescue Chief Jeff McArthur says the call came in around 5:30pm Tuesday evening.

"Inwood and Alvinston stations arrived to a fully engulfed drive shed fire so we took up defensive operations and worked hard to prevent the spread to the nearby home," says McArthur. "The house on site there did receive no damage, so they did a great job protecting the house."

Tankers from Dawn Euphemia and Watford fire departments were called in for assistance.

Chief McArthur says two residents were assessed on scene by Lambton EMS and no serious injuries were reported.

A damage estimate is not yet known.
