Local Lacrosse Player Off To NLL Final

The Rochester Knighthawks are heading to the National Lacrosse League finals thanks in part to Sarnia-native Kyle Jackson.

The 24-year-old scored one of the biggest goals of his NLL career to help the Knighthawks beat the Georgia Swarm 9-8 on Saturday night.

In just his second season with the club, Jackson was tied for the team lead in goals with 37 and last season he finished second in the NLL Rookie of the Year voting.

The former Michigan Wolverine played minor lacrosse in Sarnia before spending five seasons with the Kitchener-Waterloo Jr. A Braves.

Rochester will take on the winner of the Calgary and Saskatchewan game.
