Film, Food and Frivolity In Forest

Everything from critically acclaimed documentaries to Academy Award winners will be screened at the fifth annual Lambton Film and Food Festival that begins May 24 at the historic Kineto Theatre in Forest.

Spokesperson Susan Hewitt says it's grown substantially since year one, with 11 films and documentaries being screened this year.

"Not many little towns like Forest have a movie theatre," says Hewitt "They tend to be all in the cities now, so we're in a really unique situation. We have our Kineto Theatre which is 101 years old this year."

On Thursday, May 24, there's a free showing of "Jane", a National Geographic film about celebrated anthropologist Jane Goodall.

Three films will be screened Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a special dinner each night.

There will also be artists and entertainers at the Rotary Square, chocolate and wine and wine and cheese pairings.

A complete schedule can be found at http://www.forestfestivals.ca/lafff.html
