Brigden Goalie Shines In Memorial Cup

Brigden's Kaden Fulcher made 20 saves for the Bulldogs on Friday night and was named the games 2nd star, but in the end it was wasn't enough as Hamilton fell to Regina 4-2 in the Memorial Cup semi-final game.

The result ended the Bulldogs season and it sent the Pats to Sunday's final against Acadie-Bathurst.

Fulcher, a former Sarnia Sting draft pick, had an impressive showing in Regina over his team's four games posting a goals-against-average of 2.37 and a save-percentage of .918.

Despite being the top netminder in this year's Memorial Cup, Fulcher says Friday night's game was one of the toughest ways to lose.

The Brigden-native lost the puck on a dump-in then was bumped by a Pats player before giving up the eventual game-winning goal.

"I think it's one that you're always going to be wondering about and I think at the end of the day it's just really tough because you can't get it back and it's going to haunt you for while."

When the tournament comes to an end, the 19-year-old will likely remain in top spot among the four goaltenders in both SV % and GAA.
