Water Rescue Underscores Need For Life Jackets

Sarnia fire officials are reminding residents of the importance of wearing life jackets after a water rescue on Lake Huron Wednesday.

Fire crews, along with city police and Canadian and US Coast Guards, responded to the scene near Bright's Grove at mid-afternoon.

Firefighters say two people were on an inflatable without life jackets, and were being pulled further out into the lake.

A personal water craft was able to bring them safely to shore where they were checked on by firefighters.

No injuries were reported.
