Man Faces Numerous Charges After OPP Chase

A Sarnia man is facing a long list of charges following a chase with Lambton OPP on Friday evening.

Police say they were called around 4pm about a suspicious man sitting in a Ram pick-up truck outside of a Broadway St. business in Wyoming.

When officers questioned the suspect, it's alleged he fled the area in the truck, went onto a dead-end street, and ran from the scene.

Police caught up to him and were able to make an arrest.

Daniel Ryan Cope, 36, is charged with the following offences:

  • Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer.
  • Obstruct Peace Officer.
  • Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle.
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000- have stolen pick-up truck.
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle- pick-up truck.
  • Driving while disqualified.
  • Assault a Peace Officer with a weapon.
  • Assault a Peace Officer (x2)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x4)
  • Drug evaluation demand not complied with - motor vehicle.
  • Driving While Ability Impaired - motor vehicle (Alcohol and Drug).
  • Possession of a narcotic.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
